Radiation medical services are provided to a wide range of customers including:

  • Nuclear licensed sites and their contractors.
  • Non-destructive testing and site radiography operations in a wide variety of industries.
  • NHS radiography or nuclear medicine departments.
  • Bespoke roles (e.g. industry consultants, security consultants etc.)

Services Expedite Health provides

  1. Ad-hoc classified radiation worker medicals.

  2. Sessional physicians with experience in undertaking radiation medicals, and advising on fitness within the nuclear industry.

  3. Specialised medical roles to the nuclear industry including emergency response.

What happens at a radiation medical?

Radiation medicals are provided by HSE appointed doctors, and are required for classified radiation workers, as per the Ionising Radiation Regulations. Assessments include initial radiation medical, periodic face to face medicals, and paper reviews.

Expedite Health is able to combine classified radiation worker medicals with other types of fitness assessment (e.g. safety critical certification and/or other types of health surveillance). This can reduce the need for multiple medical appointments by providing all of the required certifications/assessments at a single visit.
